Aim
The library of the JMDR aims to collect as much literature as possible about the persecution of the Jews and over racial persecution in Northern France and Belgium in general, prior to and during WW II.
The library of the JMDR endeavours to support and follow academic research in their specialised field offering when possible consultation and advice to the visitor.
Furthermore the JMDR operates a policy of sheding documents, books, doubles and relics which do not fulfill the objectives of the museum. We regularly send unwanted items to organisations such as: ADVN, AMSAB, Flanders Fields Museum, Ypres, Belgium, Jewish Musem of Belgium, KADOC, The Museum for Central Africa, Tervuren, Belgium, SOMA/CEGES… etc.
The ultimate objective of the library is not to preserve but to make available for consultation. The opening of the library to the general public has been made possible by entering most of the documentation into a data bank. In this way the JMDR has to meet the requirements of the visitor.
