“Christened Jews in the Middle Ages and the Ancien Régime, in Mechelen”[Word, 871 Kb]
Only available in Dutch. In these chronicles Van der Jeught and Jan Meutermans examine, on the basis of documents from the Mechelen City Archives, the presence of christened Jews in Mechelen during the Middle Ages and the Ancien Régime. They discuss the Jodenstraat (Jews Street), its denizens and the names of the houses which reflect the presence of Jewish residents.
On Friday 20 April 2007, at 11:30 a.m., in the Jewish Museum of Deportation and Resistance (JMDR), the project TRANSPORT XX was presented to the international press.
Natan Ramet about antisemitism On Wednesday 27 June 2007 the Rabbinical Center of Europe (RCE) hosted an international conference on anti-Semitism at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. Mister Natan Ramet, as an ancient deportee and survivor of the Shoah, was asked to discuss the situation in Belgium.
Jewish Patients in Geel During WWII Research, undertaken by historians Gorik GORIS, Jos RATHE and Geert VANDECRUYS in cooperation with the Jewish Museum of Deportation and Resistance (JMDR), began in September 2005.
